Cookie Policy
Forward Legal Media uses cookies to keep our sites reliable, secure and personalised. When you accept cookies, this helps make the site better by remembering your preferences and enhancing your experience of our content.
This Cookie Policy applies to forwardlawreview.com and any web applications which link to this policy.
This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we use personal information.
If you have any queries about the way we use your personal information or cookies, please contact us at subscriptions@forwardlawreview.com.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files which a website may place on your computer or device when you visit a site. The cookie will help the website, or another website, to recognise your device the next time you visit. Web beacons, pixels or other similar files can also do the same thing. We use the term “cookies” in this policy to refer to all files that collect information in this way.
The majority of websites use cookies to collect and retain personal information about their visitors. Cookies have various functions. For example, they can help us to remember your username and preferences, or collect information such as how visitors arrive at and use our sites, the device they are using, their internet protocol address (IP address), what pages they are viewing and their approximate location (eg city).
Purpose of cookies
All of our cookies are first party cookies, which means that the information stored in the cookies from our site is used exclusively by us – we do not pass any information on to third parties.
We use the following three types of cookies:
- Essential: used to remember that you have given consent to the use of cookies on the website.
- Performance: used for collecting data on how visitors behave on a website, such as when they visit, their activities and interactions whilst on the website, which page they visited first, migration between different pages and so on. They are used to facilitate better understanding of traffic and user behaviour.
- Session: a temporary cookie used to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
Storage
We also use local and session storage. Like cookies, local storage stores data on the user’s browser. Local storage is typically used to store user preferences, application settings and cached data.
Data stored in session storage is available only during the lifetime of a single-page session or until the browser tab is closed. It is commonly used for maintaining state during a user’s interaction with a web application like storing shopping cart contents or form data. It is also used for user authentication to maintain user login status throughout the browsing session. Users don’t need to log in each time they navigate different web pages.
Changes to this cookie policy
This policy is effective from 23/09/2024.
Any changes we may make to this cookie policy will be posted on this page. If changes are significant, we may choose to notify you by email or to clearly indicate on our home page that the policy has been updated.
